4 weeks and counting

Here I am--I have finally gotten big! Up until this last appointment, I had gained a total of 12 lbs. I gained 6 lbs in the last week!! The baby is finally getting big. The last ultrasound guesses her weight at 5 lbs 4oz. While I was out for my massage on Saturday, I had my hair cut too. I wanted something low maintance for now--that is managable even though I am laying down, but nice and low maintance for after the baby is born too. So here is my bob with layers--although the layers are pulled out of my face here. Todd took this picture without any prompting. He is learning.

That's what sisters are for...

I have to thank all those who have helped. Todd has been wonderful getting up early and doing dishes, making our lunches, and getting us ready for the day--then coming home and helping the kids, fetching me things, and making dinner. My mom has helped keep my house clean and us fed. I put her in bed 28 years ago--and she is a great support to me. I came here to take care of her, and now she's taking care of me. And then there are the wonderful sisters of my ward with my friend, BobbieJo. They have helped with dinners and childcare. Things are going well because of your love and support. Thank you!! And I can't stop without thanking all those who are praying for us. It makes a difference, thank you.
The baby is looking good--5 lb 4 oz supposedly. We are getting anxious to have her here with us!! Karla rubbed my tummy the other day. She then looked at me and said "I think the baby is big enough. Time to take her out, I think." The girls have been so good, considering. I am so proud of them. Yesterday we hid their ponys in my covers and under my pillows and played hide 'n' seek that way.

Potty Training

I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Kylee is doing great at potty training. She started Wednesday of last week--before the blood pressure spike. Her first day, she didn't have an accident until 1, Thursday she made it until 3, and Friday was a no accident day. She got a my little pony from Grandma for that one. She has done really well!! And I am tickled pink. Especially because now, there isn't much more I can do than remind her to go. She even wanted to wear panties to bed last night--and woke up dry. So I may have two or three weeks without diapers. Kylee we are so proud of you!!

Taking it easy

I saw my specialist yesterday. The baby looks good, but I don't. My blood pressures are at a dangerous level. So Dr. Kates has doubled my medication, but he gave me a warning to go with them. If I don't rest more and my blood pressure remains high--he will suggest to Dr. Driesbach that I be put in the hospital. And I think Dr. Driesbach will follow his advice. I worry a little what Dr. Driesbach will say on Monday without Dr. Kates' advice. My sugars are also not so great. But I need to be better about staying on my diet--although he has increased my medication there as well. So 5 more weeks to go--we can do this!

P.S Just taking it easy didn't seem to do the trick. So I spent Mother's Day in bed. As long as I was laying down, my pressures seemed to come down. So depending on what Dr. Driesbach says tomarrow, it looks like bed rest for me.

This is Ryan Vance. He was baptised this week. Todd and the girls were able to go, hence why there are no pictures of his actual baptism. But this is the party they had for him. Isn't Lorna amazing with cakes!! They had a lot of fun. And Karla was just asked to give her first talk in primary on baptism.

I stayed home with my mom. Garth had special olympics. So Mom and I rented all the movies I kept asking Todd to bring home that just hadn't made it yet, like Bride Wars. We watched movies, went out for lunch, and spent a lot of time just talking. It was a fun weekend. I even got to go see an old friend who was in town--Bonnie Gottula--it's now something else but I forget what. It was fun to get to visit. And it's nice to see her happy. She is expecting her first. Abby who was also there, is expecting her third child. What a party!
