Rainy day in

Sometimes rainy days are good. It seems like we have been working so hard--the girls really appreciate the time they get to just play with daddy. Well, tonight we were going to go out and build a strawberry box for Grandma Cook. But it was raining. So Todd picked up Bolt, a movie, and brought it home. This us watching the movie and then goofing off afterward. It was nice to just play together.

So we had a fun Saturday. Todd got to go to a gardening class. He learned a lot--that we will implement next year. In the meantime, Todd had me get a second fridge for my mom. Our hope is that she will have the space to keep her fridge cleaned out now!! Then we went and finally planted our tomatoe plants. We planted 16 in all. Todd thinks I went a bit overboard on the tomatoes, but we will see when they start producing. We let Karla and Kylee plant one tomatoe plant in their garden for them to harvest. I am hoping this saves some of our produce. But it also gave her some satisfaction. Karla loves helping in the garden. (Kylee likes it too but loses interest quickly). Karla and Kylee have their own little corner. They have planted their one tomatoe plant as well as corn, beans, peas, carrots, and who knows what else in their garden. It will be interesting to see if anything pops up. But that is where they can dig. We also got carrots, beans, zucchini, and squash in today!! All we have left is our potatoes.

We then went out to the farm and had tin foil dinners and hot dogs with Grandma Mann and Uncle Garth. And Grandma brought smores. MMMM!! And Todd built the lid for the strawberry box as well as put the caseron on the Raspberry patch. All in all, it was a good day. We came home smelling like smoke and ready for bed!

Blessings of a Clean House

Yesterday, we had the missionaries come for dinner. No big deal. I was going to the temple in the morning, but that is all I had going. Well, one thing led to another--and I didn't get home till 4. So I didn't have time to pick up the Livingroom or anything--I fixed dinner. I didn't even get a dessert made. But when the missionaries showed up, I wasn't embarrassed about my house. It was clean just played in. Thank you flylady, and all those who have been patient with me while I figured it out.
I will admit, my mom came to my house to watch my kids while I went to an early doctor's appointment. She helped pick up the toys left out yesterday. Then she took the broom under the couch and the entertainment center...And we had some more work to do. I think I cleaned them out about a month ago maybe. But it is now done!! The girls room and my craft corner needs a lot of attention, but the rest of the house is looking pretty good. And I am hoping to get to clean out my car today--for all of those who follow flylady, that is today's challange. But I did wash my sheets this morning from yesterday's challange.
PS Things are going well with the baby, but we are going to start watching the baby a little closer. Weekly appointments with my specialist: I have 3 doctor's appointments next Friday!!

Vegetable garden

So after so much success last weekend with our fruit patch (which the deer have gotten into...grrr), I thought we would get our vegetable garden planted this Saturday. It wasn't nearly as crazy. Well, we have three rows of corn planted, two double rows of peas planted, and a half a row of onion plants. So we are maybe almost half done. We still have some tomato plants, carrots, beans, zuccini, and potatoes.
We did portion off a little bit of dirt for the girls to dig in so they don't dig up our seeds. And Karla planted two corn seeds. She was excited to help dad plant the corn.
Thinking on potatoes--we went out the Grandma and Grandpa Cooks to get seed potatoes and had a great visit. It was so good to see them, but we forgot to go out and get the potatoes. Oops!!
Now as for having a great weekend--and no pictures. I have misplaced my memory card and didn't realize it until I went to take pictures. So no great shots. I am hoping to find it today as I clean. If not, I will have to go pick up a new one. C'est la Vie.

Easter

Saturday, in between everything else, the girls went to the city's Easter egg hunt. They got to meet the Easter bunny and pick up some eggs. It was fun. Then Sunday we went to Grandma Mann's house for ham. It was fun to be with family. Then on to FHE with my Aunts and Uncles.

We are grateful for the Savior. That He lives!! And that He made His great sacrifice so that we could live again both spiritually and physically: I can never thank Him enough for all He has done for my family.

Out little Garden

Friday, I went out to Basin City and got raspeberry starts from Ann. Thank you Ann!! So Friday night, we were fixing up the water out at Grandpa's farm. The girls even helped. They love helping daddy in the garden! Dark came faster than we hoped. So the girls spent the night at Grandma Mann's house, and Todd and I got up at 6:30 in the morning to get the raspberries in. We then went to Grandma Mann's house and got her garden properly fertilized (we hope anyway) and ready to plant. Then it was back to the farm for us. Todd rotatilled and built a box for the strawberries. Before the day was done--our little strawberry patch was in the ground. We still want to build a lid for the strawberry box to keep the birds out--but it will wait for another day. We then hurried home and went to the temple. This week--we focus on getting the veggies in out at the Campo's. We are excited about our little patch.

Baby update

I am getting excited as we count down the weeks. We are starting to get close!! I went to the specialist today--The baby looks great. She weighs 3.4 lbs and has all her neccessary orgins looking great. (Now we don't really know she's a girl--this is just my intution and the necklace agrees--see previous posts for explanation on this).
But I on the other hand...we have had to increase my glybride medication--for my blood sugars. I take 5 mg in the morning and 7.5 at night for those who know. I am still taking my 1000 mg of metformin in the morning with 1500 mg at night. If I have to increase more, they will put me on insulin, but I am grateful we've put it off this long. We have also started me on 100 mg of high blood pressure medication. I've been looking great with my blood pressure, but just this week my blood pressures have spiked. Can you tell we are getting close to the end?

Last minute trip to Idaho

Mom and Janice called us Thursday night at 9:30. "Everyone is going to be here but you. Can you make it out?" So we started rearranging and packing. Low and behold, we made it. We got to meet Tiffany's boyfriend, Zack. He is a neat young man, and she seems to really like him. Here he is helping mom give her guinea pig a trim.

I have made several entries so that I could put lots of pictures and loading won't be too bad. I am still figuring out how to put pictures side by side. So the next several entry's are about different aspects of our trip--We had fun!! And we are glad we went.

While we were all together we got a family photo. My family photo on the wall is from when Devin was on his mission. So it was good to get one while we were all there. It will be out dated soon as we have 3 new babies this year. But take it while you can get it. Now, I don't have our family pictures yet, but here are a few of us getting ready for them.
