Canning 2008
We spent last weekend rearranging furniture. The weekend before Todd and I canned 80 jars of apricots for us and an additional 2 dozen for Lorna. We had piles of boxes with canned food in them all over the house. Boxes in our closest, under the table, in the corner of the kitchen, in the corner of the living room, and in any available closet space. Now they are all on a self, or almost. Todd feels a sence of accomplishment now that he can see all he has accomplished. And I had forgotten about the pumpkin smush. I guess we will have pumpkin muffins for breakfast soon. So we did not can last weekend, and we may not can this weekend either. But soon we will have peaches and blackberries to can. We are excited for the fruit, not necessarily the canning part. But we are grateful for the food storage--that we can, can!!

Wow, I thought that I had been doing a lot of canning this summer. all i have done is beans and applesauce, and most of the hard stuff mom did for me. Grandma Nef's apricots are almost ready, so I am excited to make apricot jam, my very most favorite.
