At last

Childhood is dirty, dig in.

We finally got me a camera. My mom made it possible. And we went shopping. I was afraid within out price range I would have to make concessions, but we were able to get everything I really wanted in a camera, in our price range. We got a Fujifilm Finepix S1000 for those who know about cameras. For those who don't, it has 12 optical zoom with 10 mgp of memory and it also does countinous shooting. Those were my three things I was looking for anyway. As a bonus, it has optional flash and I can change the F stop setting or shutter speed. I admit, before I do that I need to brush up on my photography stuff. I am very excited!!

Now you would think the first picture I would take would be of my children. I thought so anyway, but their hair just didn't coroperate today. So I am hoping we can get some cute shots of them tomarrow. Nevertheless, I am part of a MOPS group. MOPS stands for Mothers Of Preschoolers. They have lined up daycare for the two hours we are there. We take turns helping with the brunch. We then have a speaker and a craft. It's a neat group for those women who are stuck at home with young preschoolers and need to get out. It's especially good for those women who don't have an enrichment program to tap into. This group is non-denominational Christian. The point is--this Tuesday they are having a photography contest. I have the perfect picture to enter from my collage days, but alas, they asked for more recent pictures. Darn. So after reading half the manual, I took my camera out in my yard and took several pictures so that I have an entry. I have to take them to the store tomarrow to get them printed if I want them ready in time for Tuesday mornings gig. But as a photo major, I want to participate. I don't enjoy photographing people outside my own family. These are the photos I live to take. So I am doing what I can with the resources I have. Here are the few I thought I'd enter.

Very cool! Now i get to see pics of your family and your two cute girls and your little one on the way. The one pic i like is the sunset. I'm big on sunsets they always put me in a peaceful mood when i lived at my parents. i would go and sit on the front porch and watch the sunset.
