Valentines Day 2012

Valentines Day has been a fun one this year for the Nef's.  I decided I wanted to do something different for the girls, but didn't get around to getting the card stock until Monday!!  So we took our card stock and stickers to the babysitters after school on Monday.  Karla was very distracted and didn't get many cards done, but Kylee did great!  So  Tuesday morning before school, Karla and I are quickly trying to finish 25 out of 30 Valentines Day Cards.  We finished just in time!  And the girls took homemade cards to school along with a candy for everyone in their classes.  I think they had fun.  And I know they ate way to much candy today.

For Christmas, Cyntha got Mom a trip to see her.  What a wonderful idea Cyntha!  It just so happens that Mom's trip is overlapping Jonathan's conference his work is sending him to--in the same city!!  So my whole family is going to be in Las Vegas this week.  Last week, Todd decided (seemingly out of the blue) that I should go.  Those of you who know Todd know that when he puts his mind to something--it happens.  He is very careful about what he puts his mind to.  But he decided I should go and spend this time with my family.  It has been quite a while since I've seen Cyntha--and both her and I were just talking about how we needed to get together "someday soon."  With the aid of Jonathan and Dot--it happened.  I'm so excited to get to spend a week with my sisters!!  What an amazing gift my love.  I am blown away and feel very loved.

So I made taco soup for his lunch today.  And then I added a soda, chocolate covered strawberries, and cake balls to his lunch.  It's not much--but he knows I'm at least trying!!  Today he happens to have the 2pm to 10:30pm shift at the hospital.  We talked about going out during school hours, but he got his scooter up and running instead.  It needed to happen too--and I think he liked getting that done during daylight hours rather than trying to do it after a day shift.

Todd even turned around and got me "flowers."  When money was really tight--I hated spending money on flowers that would just die.  So he started bringing me flowers in the form of treats we usually didn't have the funds for such as icecream.  I have really enjoyed baby dill pickles--always have--but I especially do this pregnancy.  But I used the last pickles I had and forgot to put it on our shopping list.  So Todd made a special trip after papers and brought me home "flowers" in the form of pickles!  I really have been loved and spoiled this year.  I'm going to have to come up with something really good for next year--It will be his turn to be spoiled!
