Dancing in the Rain

So, my mom asked me to run a couple of arrends with her yesterday. And as I was leaving to join her, she called and suggested we do lunch. We had tried to last month--and then last night we were going to go dancing and that too got put off. So we went yesterday out to Mongolian Bowl. It was fun!! Garth didn't care for the food even though it was noodles. So Mom will be eating Garth's leftovers and Todd and I have the girls. But the food was so good. And it was fun to get out and do something fun together. Then we ditched Todd and the kids and went shopping again. Mom and I enjoy this, but Todd says we spend to much money when we do this. He is probably right. We got a picture for my Aunt Susan. They are going through some trials, and we wanted to show our love and support. The sign said "Don't wait for the storm to pass, Learn to dance in the rain."
In collage, I had a friend who came over with his boom box and asked me to dance in the rain with him. It was so fun. Later (years later), Todd was walking me home in the rain, and I asked him to dance with me--right there in the parking lot behind the Smith building. I didn't even know I liked him yet. He looked at me a little weird, but he danced with me.
I like to think that I am learning to dance in the rain through out my life. It comes back to understanding the concept of "come what may and love it." We found out my Uncle Byron has cancer--and it's spreading fast. They were talking about his chances to live last night. And no matter what his chances are in this life--he has a 100% of eternal life. With that perspective it's easier to say "I believe in Christ so come what may!!" or get wet dancing in the rain. We love Uncle Byron, and I hope he sticks around for a long time. He is a great man, and I have learned a lot from him. But you know, the gospel is true, isn't it. And I'm sure he'll be there when I too leave this life. What a reunion that one will be!!

Very true dancing in the rain throughout our lives. I love dancing in the rain and jumping in the puddles.
